Special visitors at RJS!
Wow! What a treat this day was! A visit from Santa and two of his reindeer! The children loved it! They even got the chance to enjoy some artificial snow!
Children in Need - can you guess the face behind the Pudsey mask?
Children had a wonderful time raising money for Children in Need! They enjoyed coming to school in non uniform - trying to wear yellow or spots to show their support! They also enjoyed an afternoon of activities focused on Children in Need, including making their own Pudsey mask!
UK and its neighbours 'Launch Day'
To launch our 'UK and its neighbours' topic, the children have completed a range of activities. They tried to locate some European countries, explored some capital cities, compared our temperature to others across Europe and had a go at tasting some delicacies from a range of countries (not all of them were popular!)
Ultimate UK and London City 'Launch Day'
During this topic, children had the opportunity to explore the UK in detail. They began their learning completing some hands on activities such as UK jigsaws and a clue based treasure hunt, We explored the countries of the UK and some major cities. We looked at physical characteristics of the UK such as rivers and mountains as well as some of the human landmarks within London such as The Shard, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben.
Multi-skills Sports Club
This half term, children enjoyed PE lessons delivered from a coach from HSSP. The children looked at a range of multi-skills and some children even enjoyed some sessions after school.
The children loved their art topic this half term. They focused on the artist Banksy and his graffiti style. They did some research on the artist before developing their stencilling skills to complete their final masterpiece.
